Both of my cats have no qualms about being on the bed, though. And even when I'm sound asleep, I can tell which is which the second they hop up there.

Funny same here. Jinx sleeps at our feet on the bed. She puts herself there and wont lay by our heads even when invited.

When I picked up her ashes the other day, I put them in the closet on the floor where she slept so much. I still can't close the door.

That's not strange... When I went to Northern California in December, I kept Ashley's ashes on my car's right rear seat. That's where she always sat whenever she was in the car, and I had to take her for one last trip.

So Lonnie how is she doing? Is she adapting, sad, spastic, sweet? Details man:) She looked right at home in Ashley's old bed.Once she has been around awhile is there a huge remote place you can take her off leash? You could let her run her heart out but keep her in eyesight. It would be a great place to work on calling her back to you and teaching her to stay with you. Does she come? Does she seem to know any commands?

Minnie is adapting great! Better than I could have hoped for. There are miles of wide open empty fields around here, perfect for walking and running. I haven't tried to let her run off leash just yet, though. She's still a little shy and flighty, but I think I might feel comfortable enough to test her soon. Maybe in a couple days I'll take her out into the field across the street and see how it goes.

She does seem to know "stay" pretty well, and definitely knows her name and will come running if I call her. I don't know if she knows any other commands. Toxey said he was trying to teach her to "shake", but she hadn't quite grasped that concept just yet. I'll probably keep trying to teach her that one. I once outstubborned a purebred Pekingese and taught it to shake hands. Took me the better part of a year... That was one stubborn dog!

If I do that, maybe I'll give another try at some long exposures there again. I haven't done any of those in a long time.

I bought some neutral density filters about a month ago. I'm waiting until the weather gets better so I can do some long exposure shots. I've got a ton of ideas, but no cooperating wx.

Oooops:lol: I imagine that could put you in varying levels of trouble depending when one did it.

Just to prove how strange I am...

Muffin slept in my bathroom closet because it was safe and warm in there. I always kept the door open a bit for her. For some psychological reason, I cannot close that door all the way. When I picked up her ashes the other day, I put them in the closet on the floor where she slept so much. I still can't close the door.

I don't think that's strange at all. It would be strange and cold NOT to do it.

Minnie won't jump up on the bed on her own ...

Our cats will jump up on the bed whenever they darn well feel like it. One cat in particular will sleep right beside me. I swear that cat is a nuclear powered, fur lined hot water bottle. I'm dyin' from the heat, and that cat will just lie there....

Jinx and Peepers (external link). It came out dark but it is Peepers licking Jinx all up in her ear:lol:

Awwww... the short one asked if the cat got an allowance for bathing the dog.

Muffin would never jump on any furniture other than the bed, even though I never outlawed it. I never figured that one out. She would meow loudly at my feet until I sat on the floor with her.

I have some ND filters, but I've never used them for long exposures. If it's dark outside, that's all you need. You don't need to make it darker. Just set the aperture to f/8 or f/11 and open 'er up for a half hour or so...

Little Foot has recently discovered that it's much more comfy to sleep under the covers. She'll burrow her way in, then dig herself right up against my left side. Good thing she isn't a nuclear kitty, though. I haven't had any reason to complain about her body heat yet. Of course, it's a pretty tiny body...

Tupper, on the other hand, refuses to get under the covers. If I throw them over him, he panics and can't get away fast enough. He sleeps on the right side of the bed, usually just short of "out of reach". He's close enough for me to pet him, but far enough away that I can't try to grab him and drag him closer...

I should've clarified. I've been meaning to take the ND filters out when it's Daytime so as to slow the shutter speed. I've also wanted to do night shots of star trails, but we're under constant cloud cover until May.

LOL is that the one where they keep panning at odd angles? I should get it for Allie someday. She is currenlty a BB nut.

Yikes! That sounds depressing. :( I complain if we have a full week of cloudiness, which we did this week.

edit: a threefur, heheh

Such is Oregon. We've had some cloudbreaks, to be fair, but they've been few and far between. Winters and early Springs can be very dreary.

Well, crud... Now that you mention it, I *do* remember a long exposure daytime shot I did with the help of a couple ND filters. But I can't find it! :(

But, while I was looking, I did find these...

RAPTOR (external link)video. For any that may be interested in watching a little girl scream at a robot dinosaur. In all fairness she was only 4 and I should have known better than to let the thing loose on her. I thought this was last Christmas but it was actually two Christmases ago. (Ignore the clutter in the house.)
