Very interesting Zane. I foresee a multi-million dollar law suit happening here. :)

Remember Zane, I knew you when you had nothing.

ARGGGG SCHOOLBOY ERROR !!!!!!

I was playing with my new (second hand) 5D last night and was really impressed with is low light capabilities (you can guess where this is going can't you)

This afternoon I went to may nephews first birthday party where I had been asked to take a few pictures. I tend to use pretty much the same settings when using flash - 125 to 200/s and between f/2.5 and f/6. I took a few pics and they looked ok on the LCD screen. I then sat down to enjoy the jelly and ice cream (the real reason I went) and then it struck me, I had not changed the camera from ISO 1000 after the previous nights experimenting :-(

Luckily for me the pictures are still useable, I do not think that would have been the case if I had been using the 1D.

N.B. I blame Puds for the poor settings advice he gave me last night !

They came out pretty well, I'd say Neil.

You've probably noticed that the backgrounds aren't as dark as you're used to. ETTL saved the exposure for you.

If I am really honest TTL/ETTL saves my exposure every time I stick a flash on my camera

I still find ETTL flash both confusing and blindingly simple to understand.

Today, I tried using HSS to do some fill flash outdoors and I completely messed it up (couldn't get my shutter speed faster than 1/200 for some reason).

If I'm really honest I have to look up TTL/ETTL in the book. It shouldn't be surprising that I rarely stick a flash on my camera, lol.

It's always his fault... Doesn't matter what the problem is, it's easiest to just blame him... ;)

And, now it's time for me to cuddle up with someone special... ;)

She even jumped up onto the bed all by herself today! We're really making progress... :D
