If we had sneaux, it might be more tolerable for me. But Winters here in our patch of Oregon just means overcast skies or constant rain. It's more dreary than enjoyable. I enjoy Autumn more than any other season.

G'MAE, All.

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. We lived in a two story house. My brother and I used to dig tunnels in the snow drifts that reached the roof of the house. One winter, my mother was snowed in at work for an entire weekend in what was the worst blizzard Nebraska had ever experienced. I know what a real winter is like. ;)

I was thinking you used to live where it snowed, but couldn't remember for sure. Yup, that sounds like a real winter! :D

Lonnie I love winter and snow!!

That's why she's moving to Michigan...

Becky N wrote in post #4971370 (external link)
I don't mind it as long as the dirty yucky looking snow piles are gone when I wake up March 1st and the flowers start popping through. ;-)a

Never seems to happen, though.

Actually if it has to be cold, I like it when there is snow on the ground. Bitter cold and no snow just seem wrong, for some reason.

I LOVE to play in snow, I just want it to melt before I have to drive in it. I prefer snow over cold weather, and if its going to be cold I don't want any snow (since its too cold to play in it, and it won't pack anyway). That said, I'm still dying to move to a warmer state when I retire. Actually I'd like to move to northern Cali, so that Allie can get resident rates and the universities there. I'm not that impressed with Indiana higher education.

Hi Dan! I love autumn too. The crisp air and tangy smells really perk me up. Spring is just too messy (and tends to smell like dog poop around here). But I'm ALWAYS glad to see spring!

Where in Michigan? I have relatives in Kalamazoo.

HI! Dan, how are the nerves?

When I was stationed in California I really missed the distinct changes in seasons. So I try hard not to complain too much. I do reserve the right to be sarcastic about it once in awhile, though. ;-)a

Having lived in the Seattle area from August to June, I can very much relate to the cold dreary rain the PNW can get for winter. It is very depressing.

Hi, Crissa!

So far, so good. It's a little overcast, but from what I've read, it's not really supposed to rain until late tonight. I hope that's the case. The church where the wedding is isn't all that photogenic, so we're hoping to get some shots elsewhere for the couple. So, sunshine would be really nice. Lisa has some plans for indoor shots, if that's what needs to happen, but we'd rather have the outdoor option....kwim?

So, am I the only person on Earth whose favorite season is winter?

Add me to the sneaux fan list.

I love Autumn, especially now that we live in the valley where there is the "Changing of the Seasons" in the trees. Love that.

HI! Dan, how are the nerves?

I'm OK. Lisa's a bit rattled. Well, right now she's sleeping, but last night, rattled. She gets herself worked up, but then, when it's crunch time, she's all pro. Fascinating transformation to watch, really.

For some reason I suspected she may be like that. I'm looking forward to hearing how it all turned out and seeing some of the shots.

Ditto! :) Admittedly I don't understand the entire "shoot the wedding thing". It seems like an unnecessary expense added to an already unnecessary expense. All wedding shots tend to look alike to me. But I'm willing to bet that Lisa's shots will break the mold. ;) She's very creative and a dang good photographer to boot!

Yup, yup, yup. She'll come out of this thing smelling like roses. She's got some great ideas for this shoot.
