He's such a cutie! Those are beautiful blue eyes!

Here's a recent one of Bean:
Are you going to shoot this weekend? IT is so beautiful out.

Anyone here ever carry two bodies with lenses attached to shoot? How do you maneuver them?

Woolburr wrote in post #4975983 (external link)
I almost always carry two bodies and sometimes 3...depends on what I am doing...I usually have one strap around my neck and the other camera by the body and handstrap.

If I carry two bodies I usually have one over each shoulder.

Skrim17 wrote in post #4976006 (external link)
I was thinking about getting a hand strap, but then how do you put it down to shoot with another camera?

I tried the Canon handstrap and found it too confining for my style of shooting.

I know US geography very well, but I know very little outside the country.

Because navigation was my primary speciality in the Navy I turned into a chart and map nut. I have numerous atlases and maps strewn all over the house. I do a lot of reading about military history and always look up where the battles I'm reading about took place.

My brother loves going to stores and restaurants and asking if they accept Hawaiian money. The answer is almost always no...

My friend on the supply ship carries some 500 Franc notes from New Caledonia in his wallet. If he gets lousy service at a restaurant he leaves one of them for a tip. They're worth little in US money and the server will run around everywhere trying to get them changed.

I'm very curious what focal length was used for this ...

G'MAE all.

I had to back to my smugmug to get the information. It say 275mm (440 in 35mm). That means it was shot with my 100-400 because that's the only lens I have that goes that long.

Hmmm...that's an idea. Maybe I'll get some Mexican Pesos and leave some as a tip for lousy service too.

Sorry to hear it. My kid had it a year or two ago. Its nasty and took two rounds of antibiotic before she was well. When she started running a fever again after the first round, they simply called in another antibiotic prescription and I didn't have to take her back in to RediMed.

The good thing is that she is 7 now and doesn't catch much of anything any more. :D For a while there I was practically living at RediMed and Walgreens.

hey can you guys share some opinions with me. I am looking at these two different kits and I really know nothing about lighting. I don't need anything extravigant.

I have some pesos. I can't remember if they're 100 peso bills or 1000, but I was told by a coworker from Mexico that they're basically worthless. I should keep them on hand for occasions like that.

One time when my brother and I had particularly bad service, we left a nickel for a tip.

Another time, at that same restaurant, but with a different waitress, we went there very early in the morning before heading up to Ventura to catch a charter fishing boat to the Channel Islands. The waitress was a friend of ours and while making small talk she asked what we had planned for the day. We told her we were heading up north to go deep sea fishing. Her response was, "Oh really? What ocean?"

Jamie, what do you plan on using your lights for? Indoors, outdoors? People, objects, cars?

Those lights you listed aren't the most powerful, so if you are trying to using them outdoors for fill light, etc they won't work.

For indoor studio style work, they will work a bit better.

Yes, yes, yes, yes & yes.

As for outdoors a little fill light but more or less evening shots of autos. Other suggestions? (in the same price range?)

Well... that gets tough.... AlienBees are preferred, and one AB800 might be better than some of those lower-power kits... but just the strobe is $279... then you need stands, etc...

There is always the off-camera flash method... use cheap, older, manual flashes like the Sunpak 383 or Vivitar 285 or Nikon SB-24, -26, and -28... you can use them on lightstands with umbrellas and softboxes.

They are lightweight, very portable due to being all battery operated, and pretty darn flexible in use.

I can create a "shopping cart" later on today with a simple two flash kit (and all the needed add-ons)

If you do I would take a look. I want lights too although I have a couple of things on the list I need before lights.
