That would be a hoot. When I was in the Coast Guard, I volunteered to go to every firefighting school I could. In the six years I was in, I must've attended ten? maybe twelve week long schools all up and down the West Coast. I had a blast in every one. Pun intended. From what I gather, fighting fires on a ship is completely different than fighting a house fire. I had thought of going the firefighter route when I got out of the Guard, but one thing led to another and it never materialized, to my sorrow.

I grew up at the station... the very one I spent my day in today. My dad took me everywhere and so it was natural when I turned 15 to actually join as a Jr. Firefighter. I was a member for 4 years in high school, came back from college re-joined for a year, moved to another area of the county and joined the department out in that area for 4 years. It's been a lifestyle for sure! Now my kids are being raised into it as well!

Oh yeah. Interesting, but every tank in this museum that still had their tracks on them all had rubber treads.

As for commuting, I think the fuel bill might be problematic.

Ah, so. You know, Lisa, you need to come down here and soak up some Vitamin D. It was beautiful today, and almost 80. We were going to sit around the house and do chores, but it was so pretty, we decided to go for a ride. The museum is where we ended up.

I should. My MIL keeps asking if I'm going to come down. I've got that wedding next week though and then the processing and an engagement shoot in late March...but maybe in April.
