Those Mandarin/Wood ducks are so cool. I wonder if other ducks get jealous of the plumage. You know, like Mrs. Mallard leans over to her hubby and says, "Why can't you dress like that guy? You're best suit is that dumb green head. You need new feathers."

Thanks, Guys. Now comes the long and arduous job of watching Lisa process all those shots. ;)

Grab a nice easy chair, a beer and watch the show ;).

I liked those shots as well!

Am I missing something here? For the life of me I can't see how having the original box for a lens or body is going to improve the resale value if you decide to sell it...

There are some of us who have nothing else to talk about. However, if you need a practical reason, there is no better packaging for a lens than that which it came packed in. If you want to sell it or ship it to Canon for service, the original box and foam are hard to beat.

I've bought two lenses off of POTN folks. One with box one without.... I can tell you that I would be curious as to who would buy a used lens for more than it cost... I'd wager to guess that whoever is... is not doing their own research into how much the lens cost new... So that potentially by over pricing a used lens... a seller could be taking advantage of folks by doing that...

What blonde is talking about is the used cost not the new cost.

I must be missing something... this is what blonde said

and as for your second point, again, try it instead of saying that it is silly. in the past month i have sold about lenses all for almost exactly what i paid for them or even a bit more. the beauty of buying a in-demand item used is that you can use it and if you don't like it, sell it for exactly what you paid for it or even a bit more if you are lucky.

Is he saying that he sold his used lenses for what he paid for them new? or did he buy them used and sell them again? I was interpreting it to say that he was selling used lenses for what they cost new....
