I must be missing something... this is what blonde said

Is he saying that he sold his used lenses for what he paid for them new? or did he buy them used and sell them again? I was interpreting it to say that he was selling used lenses for what they cost new....

I am sure he is saying he bought used and sold for the same as he paid.

I care, Didier. Nice shots. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel as nice as that. You get to see some really nice places.

There are some of us who have nothing else to talk about. However, if you need a practical reason, there is no better packaging for a lens than that which it came packed in. If you want to sell it or ship it to Canon for service, the original box and foam are hard to beat.

I agree with that, but what these guys are claiming is that if you sell a lens, you can get more for it if you have the original box... ???

Moooorning. I slept for 11 hrs! I can't think of the last time I did that. I was sooooooooo tired!

Took me a long time to catch up though. I see that my missing a couple of days has knocked me down a notch in here.

So far, I'm loving the wedding photos, Lisa and Dan. More.....more!!!!

Thank you Mo! I really hope they love them.

This is a cool place. I like the shot. Do you have more of it?

Time to share the moment of the day....I sure am glad these people have surveillance cameras....too bad they don't know how to turn them on.

Nice work on the wedding, Lisa and Dan.

thanks Jon!

Thanks, Guys. Now comes the long and arduous job of watching Lisa process all those shots

lol, yeah I figure I've got a month's work ahead of me.

Jon wrote in post #4983736 (external link)
Yeah, it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it. To minimize the chance for injury, I recommend a good, comfortable, chair handy to the beer fridge and a wireless connection to RRTP.

but this is an excellent way to spend a month

I've actually had someone sell me a lens for less (quite a bit less...Dan's 100mm macro) than the going rate because it didn't have it's box or manual. And when I was selling my 85L, people said I should be selling it for less since it didn't have the above. I don't know why it's the case, but Snir's right, it really happens.

My 400 has the box and softcase and people want to get it for $800... that is $300 of B&H pricing... Or basically 27% off... "L" lenses are supposed to hold their value a bit better than that :-D

They are Scott, except in anticipation of a new lens of that length coming out. I can't imagine why your lens isn't selling. Put it on ebay.

I've done POTN and Craigslist... my next step will be the NatureScapes forum (paid subscription required, but still cheaper than ebay fees)

It doesn't make any sense to me, either...

Someone posted this comment in the "Let's see your boxes" thread. Perhaps this sums up the whole thing...
