I know how to do it in windows, but haven't figured out how to do it on the Mac yet. Probably in Disk Utilities.

that wasn't meant to be offensive. I'm trying to determine if it's because of the high fps of the M3 or something else?

I can't believe you don't want people who have never owned or even seen a Mk III offering you their reasoned and expert opinion. Shortsighted, I tell ya!

I did start a thread and I'll be interested to see if anyone has any insight into the issue.

Yesterday, my 8gb was only about 1/3 of the way full when I noticed the slower write speed.

Funny how you mention in bold that only mkIII owners should answer and the first one after me does not own a mkIII.

lol, yeah I know. I appreciated Basroil's response though. It makes sense and does line up with your experience. The odd thing is that I haven't noticed a slowdown on my 4gb when they get full. But I haven't really paid attention either.

So far. Today is bill-paying day, so things are bound to get a little ugly around here.

Do not expect me to be cheerful in subsequent posts. In fact, I probably won't be myself for 3-4 days. Let me apologize in advance.:o

I just significantly emptied my bank account yesterday. Paid for the Italy trip...... then came home and told Skip "Okay, we're broke now but I am going to Italy in style!";)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Do you ever reformat the cards in your computer. Reformatting in the camera only erases the directory from what I understand.

I've never once formatted, let alone reformatted a storage card. After I copy the files from a card to at least two hard drives, I just delete the files and directories on the card.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

I would have to classify you as lucky. I've had varous glitches that could only be ascribed to the card, and reformatting frequently seems to solve the problem.

I don't know that it can be a factor in write speed or not. I also don't know if storage cards can become fragmented like hard drives. That seems less likely.
