Very nice setup! & The Drobo, how do you like it paired with the system?

Sweet rig indeed but that ridicolous keyboard looks like a kid toy ;-)a. What a shame if it wasnt for that i could even fit a rig like that in my office :-)!!

The only thing missing now is a tablet.

I have a 6x11 intuos 3 tablet and just ordered a new 12" Cintique today...

Drobo is great on my Mac Pro and both my MBP's. Not a single issue knock on wood. I haven't tried it on a windows system as I don't own one anymore.

My first thought was "holy crap, are you made of money?". That is some SERIOUS hardware you got for just photo editing. Do you use a 1DsMKIII as a P&S? lol.

Congrat's on the purchase. I don't know what you plan on doing to use 8 cores and 16gb (I think you should donate time to science to solve climate change :) ). I run CS3 on a 3.4Ghz 2GB of RAM and that is plenty fast for me :)

HEHE not made of money, i wish. I try to use my 1dsmkIII as a serious tool. Itching for racing season to start back up.

I do some video editing as well as well as been doing some 3d modelling/animation since 3ds for dos back in the early 90's. Playing with Maya 2008 on the mac pro now is simply amazing.

I got home to late today from work to really set it up. I will try to give a small review on it tomorrow...

Those new 1 TB drives are sloooow. Would've been better off with 4 750GB's.

My main drive is a wd 750gb drive. I just added a raptor 150gb just for scratch disk purposes and two internal 1tb drives.

But you know hard drives are the bottleneck in any system no matter how fast they are and slow is relative. I am happy with my performance overall it is am extremely fast machine even with the tb drives. But the 750/150 are my work drives...

Raptor is a good idea. My OS and programs are on a raptor, Photoshop opens nice and quick. BTW, that Drobo is sweet.

Yeah I am loving the Drobo. It is one of my wisest investments so far.
