Canon S5 IS Problem - Purple and Green

I have a problem with my new Canon S5 IS. In any lighting other than perfect sunshine there is a purple and green tint on whatever is supposed to be brown. I have tried many variations of the white balance settings and nothing works. When the camera powers up the picture on the LCD looks normal for a couple of seconds and it will take a good picture during that time but the LCD soon shows the purple and green and it will no longer take a good picture. Anybody know what's going on here?

If it's still in the return period, take it back; otherwise call Canon about sending it in for repair. That's just wrong.

Whoa......that is seriously broken.

Return within window or send to Canon if outside.

My camera doesn't do that. Sounds like it needs warranty work or something. Good luck.

Just a thought. Is the camera in the colour swap mode (where it will replace one colour with another automatically)?

Check it out in the manual if you dont know what Im talking about. If its not, then thats just not right.
