I have now had mine for almost 3 years, since it first came out, and it is my go to pack for almost any situation. If hiking I will wear a pack with a good waist belt, and if just grabbing a bag for the car going to someones house, I might just use my Domke satchel. But for any kind of walk around type use, it is the 300 every time.

Yes. If you mount the 24-70 on the 5d, put the 85l under that and the 35L + 17-40: on the side where I have the other body in my pic, with the flash in the top part.

The Flipside 400AW is worth a look too . I went with the 400 as it really didn't seem that much bigger than the 300 nor was the cost that much more plus I liked the option of the extra room if I needed it . Both great backpacks ;)

I got this bag but it exchanged it today... however I learned EVERY SINGLE 300 in the store exhibited the same problem (some worse than others..)

The outside zipper with the pocket on the side... the zipper gets stuck about half way for me. As I say, every single bag had the problem in the same spot. I cannot see anything "wrong" in that spot so I am stumped WHY its happening... but does nobody else have this problem?

Also - what are those two loops on each of the shoulder straps for?

Strange on those zippers , got to be a bad batch but you would wonder on the QC . Sometimes a bit of light lube helps but most times zippers loosen up with some use .

Those 2 loops can be used to fasten additional accessories such as cases , water bottle holders...etc and also a cross strap can be put through the loops to pull the straps together to adjust the fit if you are a bit narrow in the shoulders .

I managed to fit a 300 f2.8 on a 1d2n with a 24-70 in the bag. You probably could squeeze the flash in there as well.

Wow, can you take a pic of all that equipment inside the flipside 300? I have this bag and I can't imagine all that stuff fitting in there. That's amazing!:)
