I picked one of these hoods up off of eBay and really like it (for the curious, it's the LH-61, BTW). There is a mating (alignment) point for the Canon that coincides with the Olympus hood, but the lip of the Canon lens is a bit wider than the opening of the Olympus hood. A little bit of shaving with an Exacto knife to widen the hood opening just slightly, and the Olympus hood goes on like it was made for the Canon. For whatever reason, my hood even reverses nicely onto the lens, so it doesn't eat up extra room in my bag. Again, much thanks! That hood looks to be a bit better at dealing with extraneous light sources than the Canon EW-60c, which is the hood meant for the 18-55. Thanks for bumping this. I missed the first note. Michael

Yep, CPL was used and a bit of vibrance and clarity adjustment in Lightroom. Canon EOS 5D Mark II | My Flickr Favorites

I've heard using CPLs is hard on this lens so I have not tried. Was the filter difficult to use? I did some lanscapes the other day and had to use a gradient in photoshop to get the skies to look decent. CPL could be handy. Taylor

I thought the lens was bad and I absolutely hated it. Just before I sold it, I took it off, and used it bare. Wow! What a difference. In the end I ended up not selling it. I get some amazing shots with this lens now. Needless to say, the CPL I had, is bye bye Andy Favors

Not sure what you mean by difficult to use...It wasn't hard to install and I've had zero issues (as you can see) with putting it to use... Canon EOS 5D Mark II | My Flickr Favorites

If you need more details, let me know. Just that since the front of the lens turns it is hard to keep your CPL adjusted right. I guess you just have to adjust the CPL after focusing? Taylor

Sounds like a lot of people are overreacting. I hear that as a complaint about the 18-55 all the time.
