You will when you get your hands on a good Canon prime lens(basically all of them haha) or a high quality zoom(mainly the L series). There is a biiiiig difference in sharpness and IQ, and in AF too with USM lenses.

i know, that there is is huuuge differences between kit set and L :-) or EX (for sigma)

Complete newbie!! Please explain something. I have only had my T2i for less than a week. I was trying to check the different f-stops on the 18-55 kit lens and the lens will only go to 4.5. I noticed on the lens it says it is a 3.5-5.6 lens. Why will it only go to 4.5? I am trying to learn how to take pictures in something other than using the automatic mode.

Rotate your zoom ring to 18mm. Now you'll be able to set f/3.5. The maximum aperture varies with the zoom. At 55mm, it's f/5.6.

I fiddled with the knobs, but mostly I screwed it up I think. I watched a video about the camera and he made it seem so easy. The more I played with it, the worse I made it. But I had fun till my battery pooped out just before the sun dropped..
