in the case of the Mark III v the 1DsMKIII, the Mark III wins on less noise as it has so many less yet larger pixels.

Seriously, please, stop calling the 1DMKIII "the Mark III". It's wrong...you can't abbreviate like that, as it's (obviously) ambiguous. Pick something better, please.

I agree.. who cares.. the 1dmkIII is the MKIII or Mark 3 and the 1dsmkIII is the 1dSSSSSSSmk3... the S is the ticket.

Not kidding. In a world of lazy ppl who must abbrev., there's a limit to how far u can go.

If it's that hard to press the extra keys, try 1D3. Short, sweet, non-ambiguous.

FYI, the guy who shot my wedding used 5D+fisheye, and 1Dmark3+24-70. he didn't even need to change the lenses all day and everything was well captured. i reckon that's the best wedding combo ! (of cos 1DSmark3 instead of 5D would be even better bar the price issue)

I splurge my wedding camera knowledge.

We shoot weddings with 1 5D and two 40D's. This allows us to get wide ends and long. Also both 40's were bought from best buy with there no question asked return policy for up to 2 years. So if something happens I get a new camera. In 2 years ill be done with the 40D and moved one. This set up works amazing and get wonderful results

Well, let's see, probably the only math I'm capable of:

MARK III = 7 keystrokes.

1DMKIII = 7 keystrokes.

Yep, definitely a stroke saver.

Get a life.

lol, the thought's came to be before, that's why I am looking for an even more flexible secondary. If I still can't save though $ for a MKIII on my next engagement, I'll probably show up w/ my 5D and a borrowed 40D.

and yup, it never rains during weddings! lol

This sounds like the perfect combo IMHO.
