polarized glasses do that.

"this golf cart gps display is broken ... this one too"
Weird looks from the rest of the players .....
it was the polarized sunglasses lol

The radio display in my truck has a polarized lens over it, so its always blank. 75% of my sunglasses are polarized, only the cheapest pair isn't. Cameras with video viewfinders, not optical, often black out for me, or worse, go 1/2 black. That'll drive you nuts quick.

shooting club VB and club soccer, hoping to get back to landscape work soon.

Now it makes sense, but while on my recent trip it freaked me out. I thought the camera was going bonkers......

It was a mere coincidence that I took my glasses off, ans voila I could see the image on the LCD, who knew.

Hahahah. I faced this problem too. With my sports sunglass polarized for sea use and the SX100's screen was somewhat "filtered" .

But that only happens when I am trying to make a vertical shots. Ended removing my sunglasses for that....

Back to the topic, I guess ione was using the SX100 with great expectation. Perhaps a little time will help to smooth out the rough edges and got used to it.

My only peeve until this very day, 3 months later, is the slow flash recycling time & shorter juice life per set of batteries (i used IS all the time).

But a penalty on my choice as I wanted a lighter camera with 10X zoom.

So I'm not going crazy right ?.

Well, yes you are right my first choice would have been G7, but have you see the going price lately? It's outrageous a rip off.

I chose the SX100 because the optical lens x10, and the size but not for the speed processing, or # MP. I already had A570 7.1 MP 4x much faster and lighter, but since I went to Guatemala (didn't want to take chances), I didn't want to travel with my 40D SLR.

Now I'm paying the price duh.......

Because the turning knob on back of camera is very sensitive, it kept changing settings unbeknown to me. I realized now that some of my best shots were on Postcard setting not L, stupid of me.......

Live and learn, my next PS is going to be one that would shoot RAW

I have a couple of suggestions:

Set IS only for shooting only not all the time, that saves some juice

For speed processing a shot, change to Continous not single.

I also discovered

A silly idea here.

If the SX100 really disappoints and it's sight a borther, perhaps it is wise to cut your losses. Put it on the classified ads, marketplace, trade it in or return the camera (i think you can do that in some places).

I don't know why people get so protective, defensive of a silly (PRODUCT- TANGIBLE - OBJECT), not a dog, an iguana.

That is the purpose to have a Forum like this to post opinions about a product, or to see if others share the same.

I am trying to justify my comment, and no I ain't gonna get rid of it........so if is getting you pissed off, too bad.......

And for the record I only own Canon systems and have several

Hahahahah.

You are the one who paid for it, and now are stuck with this SX100IS that you are most negative about.

I am not your parent, giving you a lecture & lesson here BUT equally, if you cannot accept even an opinion from others about your opinions, then too bad also.

Hahahahah
