This is a Rhinoceros beetle and yes, it's dead.
It's a shame I did not notice the damaged wing casing during composition!
Oh well.

Thanks guys, I thought this was up for a zero response there.
It's dead of course, my dad bought it back from a trip to the jungle as it hid in his laundry bag and died on the journey home.
