i got my camera back from canon service today! and for some reason or another, they decided to warranty a new shutter assembly 
i can start to contribute again now!

so this isn't cropped or re-touched... but here is one of the fireworks from canada's go in july this year. I can't wait to go again saturday now that I understand how to take the images.
