My wife reading the paper

I snapped this shot of my wife as she was scanning the business section of the local paper.

Hi,
The newspaper is very sharp, but your wife is oof... looks like a snapshot of the paper... She looks like a lovely lady, but you haven't really captured her.

Focus is in the right place... the paper.

I like it. It looks like a stock photo.

Thank you all for the positive feed back! I focused on the paper because of the headline "Jobs Data points towards recession"... it's a sign of the times. And I prefer to show candid photos in B&W.

Too funny, as I was looking at this shot, I was talking to my son about getting me an IMac for this weekend...See ya Microsoft

Thanks prilamai!!! I wouldn't say she enjoys it as much as she has to... she's in the news business, and so she keeps up with news, economics, business, crime... and even some "Britney Spears stuff".

Well it would appear I am overwhelmingly out-voted... oh well... hope to keep seeing your work...

I wouldn't say that you've been "out-voted"... this is why all of us post our photos here... to share, then get c & c's. You're free to give your opinion, and suggestions... and I appreciated that you stopped to view and consider my photo. Keep 'em coming.

very photojournalistic.. very nice.. by the way micheal, it's not out of focus, the focus is on the paper with a shallow depth of field to put more focus on the headline than the wife.


Gene i actually like this one better than your "crack-berry" photo. Although it was good, the depth of field wasn't workin for my personal taste.

It's pretty funny with this type of photo, or at least the way I shot it... everybody that looks at the photo seems to have their own "interpretation". There really is no right or wrong... just what the photog was trying to convey. And to be honest, I really wasn't trying to convey anything... as much as playing with my camera at the time and I loved the dof. I shoot mainly in Av priority. Thanks for all of the c & c's... and keep 'em coming.
