I will be getting 2-AB800 & I have 1-AB400. I am not sure if I will go with the AB's transmitter/reciever or splurge for the PW. I want to be able to go portable with the AB's & quite possibly shoot farther than 30' away. I know that if I get 1 PW for my camera, & 1 PW for the main, (AB800), then the main AB will automatically trigger the other AB's. (the same as the AB's T/R )

I don't fully understand how either of these work when there are other photographers with flashes going off at the same time. Do I need to have a PW on all my Bees if I don't want other peoples flashes to set off my lights? Will the same hold true with the AB's T/R?

Thanks for your help.
Kath

Kath, in order for your units not be fired by other strobes you would need PW's on all your strobes, PW MultiMax have 32 channels and the Plus II's have 4 channels, you choose the channel you want to use. If you are in a situation with more then 1 photog you will need PW on all units, this will prevent your strobes from being fired by other photogs just make sure they are on different channels. If you are the only shooter you can use one transmitter and receiver and let the other strobes be fired by the built in slave censors.
Hope that helps. Romeo

gromeo,

I see four lights and six PocketWizards. You may want to explain why you need six.

One on each of 2 cameras perhaps. I'd bet one body has a WA-Standard for under the net and the other has a tele for mid-court.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Rabin, PlusII PW 1 for each strobe set to receive, 1 Multi Max for each camera set to transmit, all PW's are set to channel 3, I can then trigger the lights with either camera.
