Looking at one with 120k clicks, I understand some will die at 50k some die at 200k so I'm just left to take my chances.

Does anyone know the approximate replacement cost from experience?

I called Canon service, they told me they have a new policy whereby they will not give a repair estimate until the camera is in their hands. This doesn't help me as I haven't bought it yet :)

I think I found the answer...OUCH!

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?p=4577904

Is this like an engine where the repair cost depends on what the broken shutter takes out with it? Like if a valve just bends or snaps and wreaks havoc in your bottom end? So costs could vary tremendously?
