I have been thinking about buying the Canon 17-40L to use on my 5d for landscape shoots.
Of the other manufactures, what would be your next choice as an alternative to the Canon 17-40f4 to be used on the 5D?

Canon 5D Mark IV & BG-E20
17-40L & 70-200 IS2.8 Mark II L
Canon1.4x ll & 2X II Extender
Canon 15mm Fisheye

Not sure about any other alternatives, but the 17-40 on the 5D is really sweet.

From other manufacturers? Uh...hmm...I'd have to say there wouldn't be one!

IMO, there really isn't much that competes well with the 17-40 on the 5D for value.

You could look at the Sigma 12-24, it's a lot wider. There is also the Canon 14mm prime for wider (and pricier). The Canon 16-35 is also pricier and personally I'm not sure why I'd buy it since I don't need the extra stop in an UWA lens at all.

I use a Canon 5DIII and a Sony A7rIII

the only two zooms i would consider for FF would be the 17-40L or the 16-35 II ...both canons :D.
