Well in that light, you're making it harder than it should be. A conversion and an extraction aren't very different, time-wise. Canon stopped including a embedded & extractable JPEG I believe at the same time as they implemented the CR2 extension (probably because in reality it doesn't save much, if any, time over simply converting the RAW file with a good RAW software). If you want an SOOC JPEG from a RAW file, you'll simply have to do it Canon's way...conversion with camera parameters applied. Whether that's in ZB, DPP, EVU, etc is up to you. But the time you spend fighting it could be better spent doing it.
If you really need immediacy, shoot RAW+JPEG.
