So a little over a week ago I got a new lens, the 50 f/1.2L and I figured I'd head over to my friends house to break it in taking photos of her child Aden. Little did I know that it would end up being brunch.
So here's the story, I was chilling on the couch playing with the kid when I decided I wanted a glass of water... so I got up, and left the camera on the couch. When I came back, I noticed he was expressing a little interest in the thing, so I grabbed my MkIIn with the 70-200 and started snapping.

I thought it was pretty cute and wondered what he would do next, so I stood poised and waited. Sure enough he did something interesting, he picked it up and buried his face in the lens.

Not yet realizing how messy that front element would get, I thought it was pretty funny, and apparently he did too.

After the giggling subsided, he decided to walk around with it but I guess the camera was a little heavy for him, and he dropped it a few times. Fortunately, he stands only 2ft from the ground. Here he is looking all innocent after dropping 3 grand on the floor.

And of course this thread wouldn't be complete without a photo taken with the actual 50 f/1.2L... so after diligent cleaning of the front element, here is what I snapped.
