Tonight matched the 4th Rank Brighton Bengals and the 6th Rank Alta Hawks in Boys Varsity Basketball. This was a really really good game that went into overtime. Alta hit a 3 point with .8 seconds left in the 4th quarter to send into Overtime. They scored 6 points in the final 11 seconds of the game to tie it.

In overtime though the Hawks would score zero points while the Bengals would score 4 to win it. Here are some images from the game, enjoy.

Settings: F4.0 (sometimes 3.5) ISO 400-500 1/250th.

I am liking number 4.... great contact and expression. Did you do any noise work on these? I only ask because your ISO was low enough you shouldn't have had too, but a couple of them look treated. Other then that, the lighting is looking really nice... good stuff.

Nope. I believe all of these images are ISO 500. I shot Raw tonight and processed to jpeg. I then used unsharp mask settings of 100 / 1.0 / 4

I'm fricken lovin it :) lol But seriously it is a wonderful camera. The focus system on this thing is amazing! I am getting at least 30% more shots because of it going from a 40D.

Only thing I miss are the custom function dial the 40D had. That was nice!

How did you set up your lights for this shot ? ... looks like a bounce ... but im just curious as to the location and where you aimed them ...

These were bounced. The ceiling was really busy, but the good thing was that they were white! Always a bonus. They were on the same side I was shooting, but they were really into the corners of the gym. They were I would say 15 feet away from the tip of the corner of the court. Which was great for shooting baseline because there was no huge bright light in the way.

I used my 11 inch reflectors, 9 Foot Air cushioned stands and aimed them just above the free throw line and at a midway point between the light and the top of the key (thanks Dennis for this tip)

I could have shot at a 2.8 and probably iso 320, but I liked the 4.0 and ISO 500 when I was shooting.

I try to aim at the top of the key. But I try to adjust their vertical aiming in the middle somewhere if that makes sense. Geez that just doesn't sound like I am explaining it well lol

I try to pick a point in the middle of where my lights are and where I want it to bounce to.
