Hello POTN,
I tried to find a nikon forum to post this in, but apparently nikonians requires you to pay a ridiculous membership fee in order to post or you are pretty much limited to what you can do.
Anyways, I have 3 sb-28's I have slowly disassembled for cleaning. Out of the three lights, one of them has a white wire soldered from the shoe to the main PCB board inside the flash.
Here is a picture explaining what I mean.
The flash on the far right has the white wire I am describing.
Does anybody know what this white wire does? I am curious as to only one of the flashes has them, although they all function perfectly
