I use Microsoft Outlook for all of my business contacts and for my recruiting business. I just found out that there is a 2gig limit with all of the PST folders within outlook.......I am quickly approaching this and one of my partners is having problems.

I like Outlook but wondered if there is a version (server?- web?) where I could simply have it online --that would have more than 2gigs of capacity in pst.

Am I making sense? Can anyone help?

THANKS!

Scott

You could create another PST file to keep as an archive.

Thanks. You are correct but I am a little worried because I have a lot of contacts that I need to search and have quick access to but do not want to have to go to subfolders to find them.

I have a similar situation at work. I create personal folders for different subject and move the messages from the main PST to the personal folders. That way they are organized so that I can find what I'm looking for, but don't go over my allotted space.

Your contacts can remain in your main PST file. What you'd be moving to the archive is old emails - that'll make up the vast majority of used space in your PST files.

Do as they suggest - go for an archive file and then install Windows Desktop Search (just google WDS) and that will find your contacts instantly -even in sub folders plus any documents you also have.

Outlook 2003 has a PST limit size of 20GB. previous versions are limited to 2GB.
