Not per se. I bought a set called the 3500 which includes three magnifications. Most likely the lowest magnification is like the 202 (X6 3g 4E) and it works wonderfully. It came with the specialized holder, but I preferred to get the step down ring from lensmateonline.com. I think it was well worth it.
The lens works very well. I would ask you however, if you are looking at that lens, maybe you should take a second look at the canon 500d 58mm. I know that I am checking to add it to my arsenal. You will have a larger lens which will not cause the severe vignetting. I have seen some nice pics from both, if that is your question, though.

Hi. I have the 500D and I am very pleased with it, but I am looking for a lens that will give me more magnification.

wow, was I wrong.

ok the 250 is the diopter +8 whereas the 500d is +2. a significant difference. Considering my own experience with a +6 raynox, I would assume that it would be good.

the 202 is X9.3 and the 505 is really big.

I suppose first you have to decide HOW close you want to get? The 505 and my +24 raynox is almost impossible to get a good picture - though I suppose if it was a stamp or paper currency, you might have a case - with a good tripod and f8. maybe.
the 202 is close to my +12 and I rarely use it. also very difficult to get a good capture.

If you want more, i would suggest either the 250 +8 (which is 4 times better than what you currently have) or stacking 500d (in which you can loose IQ)

go look at the pics here:

Thanks for the comment. I am considering the Raynox DCR 250.

I purchased the DCR-250 about two weeks ago, and I am very happy with it. It appears to provide a good balance between macro capability, and camera practicality, if you know what I mean!

Focus point on the G7 is approximately 10cm in front of the lens, and is best achieved by moving the camera back / forward very slightly. Light, as with most macros, is an issue, but with that 10cm gap one has more opportunity to use natural light than if one is right on top of the subject.

The convenience of the clip-on/off attachment is wonderful, and the fact that it can also be used on other lenses (with thread diameters of 49-67mm). Product quality is solid, and thusfar the optics appear to be very good.
