I know some of you guys shoot with 2 bodies at the same time for weddings. How do you get the files to sync up?

The problem we are having is this:
I shoot Canon
buddy shoots Nikon

He's spending alot of time trying to get the images to sync up. Like we can get them to sync up by "arrange by date/time created". But then we run it through renaming program and such and the images don't sync up.

PhotoMechanic is the program being used.

Any tips would be great!
Thanks

When I did Bella weddings, the other photog would sometimes have Nikon so we'd sync the cameras' dates & times over the phone (since we wouldn't actually meet until the ceremony...main guy would cover bride 2nd would cover groom or vice versa). Kinda like Navy SEALs syncing their watches over their intercom.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I don't know about PhotoMechanic but with PS, I just sync the date and time of the two cameras before shooting, sort by date/time and then rename. It sounds like PhotoMechanic may not do this from what you say...maybe try PS. :)

Yeah what a pain in the nuts. For the past few weddings we have been doing it manually since we both edit our own images then throw them together in a pool. We did try arranging by time and date but both of our clocks were way off so that didn't help. Going to try it again this weekend.
