So, we all discuss which lenses are better, but when it comes time to use them, how do you change from one lens to the next.

I place the lens i want to put on. standing up with the front element face down. i only loosen the rear cap, then i hold the camera facing down, take off the current lens and place it the same as the new lens, then simply lift the rear cap off the new one, place it on the old one, and then mount the new one, and then lock the rear cap on the old one.
thats as dust free as I can make it for my lenses and camera. i always change indoors and on a table.

So, how do you change your Lenses?

i change lenses a lot during shoots, often w/o the benefit of a pit. so i use my neck strap to hold the body, loosen the cap on the lens to be mounted, take off the existing lens, swap rear caps, then attach the new lens.

i have to clean my sensor more than others.

Man, you guys are intense! I do it carefully, indoors, and be sure the camera power is off. I will now probably start using this technique now though.

I just change the lens when appropriate.
When outside in the field there are no tables or dust free areas.
Just loosen the rear end cap remove lens replace end cap and add other lens, crouching out of the wind.
Whoo needs indoors on a table in a dust free environment?
some of you are borderline ocd types :)

Gotta agree wth Chuckles, you guys are intense!

I might be the biggest scrub out there. I just make sure I don't drop the lenses and don't bother with the rest, like making sure my camera is facing down and whatever. I don't usually get an enormous amount of gunk and dirt in the camera, but it's going to get in there at some point. It's like trying to conserve gasoline in your daily road car. You can be as easy as you want with the throttle, but IMO it isn't going to make enough of a difference.

Anyway, like said, I'm a scrub so don't listen to me. :D

I do the same as most of you guys.

Camera on neck strap
Lens to be swapped in, w/ caps in place, front element face down, loosen rear cap.
Unmount attached lens, w/ front cap in place, front element face down.
Swap rear caps.
Mount new lens.

In dusty/windy areas I'll have my rocket blower out ready to puff a couple cycles to clear out the camera chamber and rear element before mounting.

<---- is totally obsessive about clean gear.

Same here! Ever accidently take a shot without a lens on because of that? Not that it would kill anyone or anything. ;)

i should have finished that sentence, ....i change lenses inside if possible.
Most times i go for a shoot, i only carry one lens, i only have the 100mm macro and kit lens, so if i go for landscapes i take the kit. so i rarely need to change outdoors, but i have before. i'm sure that will change when i get more glass.
