I did this session a few days and I'm just finishing up post processing on the first batch of keepers. The shots were lit with either 2 or 3 Vivitar 285HV's in various modifiers. Tell me what you think.

Great eyes yes.

Lighting is wonderful! the images are CRISP! what F/ are you at 32? lol

@ leninglass. As part of post processing I apply a high pass filter mask to the eyes, under the nose, lips, clothing and hair. It gives a bit of a contrast boost and that crisp sharpness you see.

I think you did quite a nice job on that first one. Very difficult to retain seperation with dark back ground, hair and clothes.

Great eyes indeed. And good light control maintaining the separation from the BG.

BTW - your post title is past tense - did you do something to ruin her eyes after the shoot?:lol:

I've never had many issues with separation of the bg and dark hair. On the first shot I did have a green gelled vivitar pointed at the black background. I also had a 430 ex dial down with a snoot to give a tiny bit of hair light (actually had 4 lights in the first shot instead of 3).
