I have never seen or even heard of this bird and I have lived in Arizona for 15 years. It's one I will be looking for now that you brought it to life. Very nice captures....steve

The only place I saw this guy was the higher elevations of Mt. Lemon. They were actually pretty approachable :) The middle 2 shots in the snow were near a small diner in an outdoor seating area and they appeared to be looking for scraps.

Yes, but I must admit I've only been birding avidly for 2 years now so my list wasn't voluminous to start with . If you get a chance to go to Sierra Vista-DO IT! I just got back and am thinking about heading back out there in April :)

thanks; my list is quite modest also.only about the 3 years into retirement and lots of that more feeder watching and book study than active birding. and i do have plans to visit there. i do want to visit my uncle and take my mom. the excellent birding in the area will be a very nice plus to the trip.

Hi Michele,
Nice series on this attractive little bird. It's now on my want list...as soon as that snow melts. I haven't been on Lemon since the fires, but I hope to go this spring. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Sierra Vista. Stay Well...tom
