Hi Guys,

I have read a few threads of people buying their MKIII from places like Dell for over $4000 or BH for ~$4300, question is why ...? I found the MKIII on US1photo.com for $3949, why such a price difference? Also, has anyone dealt with US1photo.com before? Good? Bad?

Thanks!

Kevin

Try to find a Dell 20% off coupon. I just picked up my 1D MKIII for $3599 shipped.

How was it packed when it arrived to you? The reason I ask is someone else just posted a picture of theirs when they recieved the camera, at first I thought it was a joke...

I did the same and it had flawless shipping. Well protected contents and delivery was prompt.

Dell has awful customer support.

No joke - I received a new MkIII last Friday from Dell packed the same way which caused a large dent in one corner of the camera box during shipping. Also it was a non 'Blue Dot' body and had the warranty card from a different s/n. However, at 20% off it's a great price once I get them to send me a 'new' one!

Where? I've checked fleabay and its 10-15% tops lately...

I could probably convince the wife at that price point, especially new from Dell (she almost relented last night at $3500 used). :D

Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

Dell e-mails them out to past customers, (which is how I received mine), so some people post them in the Market Watch section for others to use (single use so first to use gets it). Worth checking there regularly and you may be lucky.

Otherwise keep checking e-bay and wait until they send them out again as they should show up eventually.

Hi Chris,

Yours must of been the one I saw, did you try your camera out since you got it? I have a MKIIN that I have been thinking about upgrading from. But with all the problems that Iv'e been hearing about Iv'e held off. Although a good friend of mine has one and he has had no troubles, the low iso performance is enough to get me to make the switch. Sorry to here about the serial number mix up. Enjoy...

Pete

Didn't try it - it's going back to be replaced by a new 'blue dot' body. I've been holding off on upgrading from a MkIIN as well and only made the switch now due to the price. 20% off at Dell made it worth it, despite the hassle of getting it right.
