Custom White Balance

Hey folks....
I am very to still photography. But fortunately I have a good bit of video with full manual controls. I am looking to learn three key functions.

For this thread lets go with white balance.

I am used to clicking on the custom button and pointing my video camera at a white sheet of paper and setting it that way.

How do I do it with my Canon EOS Xti?

best advise if you have the CF memory space, shoot in RAW. In RAW format you can adjust the white balance afterwards in programs like Light Room or Photoshop. Heck .. I think the XTi may come w/ Canon software that can post-process RAW as well, sorry ... don't remember what it's called as I don't use it often.

Set the WB to custom from the back button. Then use the menu and hit Custom WB which will bring up the frame of the paper you shot. Click ok and you're done.
