Took in the monster truck show last weekend. Got a few decent pics. Comments? 20D, 70-200 non IS, 580EX

Neat shots! I've got a soft-spot in my heart for gigantic trucks that smash stuff.

Question: Did you actually use the external flash in these shots? I'm wondering because, at that distance, the flash shouldn't have enough power to do much good, but perhaps I'm missing something. I have the 430, and I understand the 580 has a bit more juice...

You can get more out of those than you might think. Put yours on M & shoot some tests.
