Anyway, I've lived away from stereos and music in the past year. Any recommendations of good music I may have missed recently?

Hey all, just a quick reference check really. Does everyone here who has upgraded their camera body and kept their old one actually ever use the old one? I am in two minds about keeping the 400d body. The new purchase has left me card hurting again, nothing a few months wont fix... but I HATE oweing money The 40D is going to do everything my 400d can and then some, its nice having a second body for the 'little woman' to play with when she comes out on shoots with me, and also means I don't have to change lenses as much out in the forest/beach etc which is a good thing.

On the flip side, its $800ish sitting there being used very little and the 450D is coming out in the next month or two meaning the 400d will instantly lose a few hundy in resale value.

Does it stay or does it go ¿?

If you don't have a particular reason to keep it then sell it.
I have kept my 350D but mainly because I do occasional commercial photo shoots, and keep that in my bag as a backup. Also my children are showing an interest in photography, so if we go to the zoo or something they can use the 350D & then I get more time to take photos as they want to take them too.

Really? I would love the idea of waking up and editing photographs all day. Talking about prints. Working with Art... Man that would be awesome. I told my mum about the job just before. She does not support it at all.

Would rather me find a glamorous job.

I have the feeling that you should aim more for something with customer contact. You seem to enjoy talking. I take it this job is as a machine operator printing photos?

LOL you know me to well. If I was on the money I was last year it would be a done deal.
Hell at the rate Im going I will be back to a 40D and Bigma
Had to take another wage dive this year due to not working the school holidays theres 12 weeks a year.

The cloest thing my wife will be getting to a ring is a coke can ring

yes Sancho that includes you your 40d needs a run.. be at NB Pier at 6am - to 6:30 am sunrise at 6:56 am be home by 7:30 in time for work.... or back to bed.

Sell the 400D and buy a fast prime. e.g. Sigma 30mm F1.4 or upgrade your Canon 50mm F1.8 to a better build and slightly faster F1.4...

a really CHEAP fast prime...?
