im not back back, but dialup here is almost as fast as bb at home (for some weird reason) and my hosts go to bed early so that leaves me about 3 hours to kill every night LOL

You just can't relax and have a holiday... :P

yeah i didnt think i was going to have any time to go online this weekend but since my hosts go to bed at sundown (young baby wakes early) looks like i have free evenings some days

man i LOVED the drive down - it was REALLY fun and such beautiful scenery everywhere, kept wanting to slam on the brakes and stop for shooting but couldnt always (trucks up butt etc). had 2GB of mp3s to listen to / sing along with, had a ball and the kids enjoyed it too
its clear and fine here, no wind... who knew? LOL
it sure is brown though, standing hay everywhere and a lot of dead trees on the way down too, that was unexpected

Have got my farewell party tomorrow night, preparing for that. David & Liz are coming, plus both the Matt's may show up... (if I can handle both.. )

Anyway, I've lived away from stereos and music in the past year. Any recommendations of good music I may have missed recently?

lol I might come wazza, finish work at 8:30pm. But im going away to my mates batch on saturday morning at 8am :O But yeee. Do we bring a box of beers? whats the arrangements for drinks. What area is the party in?

I have the feeling that you should aim more for something with customer contact. You seem to enjoy talking. I take it this job is as a machine operator printing photos?

Yeah your right. I was not thinking straight today. Things have taken a good turn. I have got good contacts with my recruitment agencies. And one of them tried to get me a sales coordinator role at the herald (APN). That has been filled. But the boss there said there is a role as a sales consultant at APN, herald. And there long term plan for me is to make me an account manager.

So I said hell yes im keen :) so we'll see how it all goes.

On the next GKPE meet could someone let me use there flash and teach me how to use it. I feel like using one for a night. Please :p

Our 17-55 went in on 30th January and HASNT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR I rang them and abused them today after getting told last week that things are taking 15-20 working days to even be looked at. Today is WORKING day 17. Apparently now its finally being escalated or so they say. Not to mention I dropped it off at Photo Warehouse on the 24th of Jan and it took a week to get to Canon:evil:

We used the service form with everything exactly as they wanted it, including Visa for the inspection prepayment, and delivered it to Canon in North Shore.

I would never trust the performance, or the inter-company relationships, of a dealer.

I couriered a 17-85mm lens to Canon, with the form on 5 Dec.; inspection charged on 7 Dec., repaired by 14 Dec with new focussing motor.

My daughter's 17-85mm failed at the same time, but she managed to get it serviced while they were closed for Christmas!

Using the right form, prepaying and not having an intermediary that Canon has to work through seems to increase the likelihood of fast processing. You may well be right on the warranty question - they don't improve the revenue-earning performance of the technicians.

I tried retiring, but gave it up - it's a dead end

handheld 1/200 sec, ISO 3200, f/5.6, 40D + bigma @ 313mm
colour/saturation not enhanced, noise reduced in sky area
