ixus 950 IS or SD850 IS - how does canon get this picture?

shooting mode =manual,

how do you get the shutter speed to 1/13 sec?

the lowest I can only seem to go is 1 sec. but it will go all the way up to 15.

any ideas?

think the camera is also know as SD850 IS

That was actually a 13", not 1/13", exposure, if you check the EXIF data.

Which, as you already found out, can be set manually.


Though for some crazy reason they didn't enable it the other way as well!

so its normal that in manual mode you can not set the shutter speed lower than 1 sec?

this is a bit stupid isnt it?

It's not actually "Manual". Manual would imply full control over both shutter speed and aperture, neither of which are controllable. The mode you have is "Camera M", which doesn't allow much other than ISO and slow shutter speeds. If you want shutter speed control, you need at least an A570.

You can set the shutter speed to longer than 1" but can't manually chose anything for shorter shutter speeds . . .
Function > Exp > Menu > Choose shutter speed
I would go with the 950 - want it badly myself!
