He wanted a raw look not too polished... well this fit right in on the style that im into now the point and shoot head on flash... so here are a couple shots. Shot with a vivitar 285HV off.

Number 1 or 2 leaning towards 2 for me. It looks a little blown out on his face in pic 1 IMO .

I'm with Heather, #4. I wish his head wasn't cut off so much in the others, its too much when its cut down to the forehead...makes him look a bit "husky" almost. I think I would have loved all but 1 if it wasn't for the crop to the forehead part. Just personal opinion tho.

nice shots. I like the lighting and the harsh lighting might be something he really likes. just wondering though what the reflection is in his left lens of his sunglasses?

I would have loved every one of these if he had the other half of his head. It was OK in one, but in the rest it was just the first thing I kept noticing. Now I find myself only *really* liking #4 because I'm so turned off by his head being chopped so much, ya know.

Really nice poses and lighting for sure, though.

Jacob,

like always, your photos are just great. I especially like the metallic background you use in the lower images. You also used that recently in your p+s style photo shoot you posted in G+N. I liked these images a lot, too. They reminded me of a campaign by Sisley called "Cutting Edge" which I saw in Italy last year.

I also feel that the head shouldn't be cropped in #5 and #6. While I'm too much of a rookie to actually critique your shots I don't like the yellow-ish cast the first image has (on my screen that is).
