I am looking at a Canon 100mm 2.8 EF one with USM and one without the USM. Is there a big difference in the performance in the two? What is the difference, I am newbie and have a Canon 30d EOS digital camera.

LordV Macro Photo-Lord of the Year 2006  More info | Feb 11, 2008 16:06 | #2 Pretty certain optically they are very similar. As most macro is done with manual focus can't see there being much difference in use http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
