It says you gotta buy a Pixma printer to qualify for the rebate on the PDF I downloaded from there. Too bad...I wanted to buy a 5d but already have a Pixma 9000 printer

Canon 1DMKIII, 7D w/WFT-E5A, 40D modded with Baader filter, Celestron CPC1100, Astro-Tech AT8RC on a Celestron CGEM, some fast lenses, and some tripods...

Damn..I was all exited and stuff.

I was gonna get the 40d kit, sell the lens and end up w/ a 40d for under 1000. I don't need a printer lol.

Oops  Your are correct...must read the fine print as well. Still a good deal if you need a printer.

Hmmm... I actually need a new printer -- and I wouldn't mind having a 24-105 lens for my 40D.

1) Anyone know if these Pixma printers are any good? My current printer is an HP OfficeJet (print, copy, scan, fax).

2) Since my 40D is new, I don't need the 5D. What do you think I could get for the 5D if I sold it brand new (I'd just keep the lens).

Thanks...

so let me get this straight, you can get $200 off any of the cameras plus an additional $100 if you purchase a printer?

the $100 printer rebate requires the secondary proof of purchase from the printer, while the $200 rebate requires original proof of purchase from the printer.

Just to set the record straight, when you drill down to the rebate details on their site they say, "Manufacturer's mail-in rebate coupon." They'reCanon USA rebates (external link) and not exclusive to J&R at all.
