I have a rebel which I love but want to get rid of because it's too troublesome to carry.. Is the G6 much smaller and will it fit in a male's pants pocket ?

Is the G6 much smaller and will it fit in a male's pants pocket ? I've seen G2 (same size?) being taken out of a pocket of male's pants once. I cannot say though that it will fit nicely into any pants. Semi-tight jeans are of the question. Maybe you need to find yourself something smaller. Leonid Mamchenkov

The S500 is the smallest, and it will fit in your pocket. The other two are slightly larger, but have more brains in them and allow for things like shooting RAW.

The G6 is much smaller than a Rebel, but I would drop the idea of putting any camera in your pocket. Go to a camera store and look at the various camera bags that are designed to put on your belt. Find one that's just big enough for the G6 and you're all set! Scott

Hit a big electronics store and see how they fit in your hand (with the security wires on them, you probably can't test your pocket 7D, G10, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 100 Macro, 50 f/1.4, 430EX II

Oct 14, 2004 19:26 | #13 Well the rebel was a dumb purchase on my part. I couldn't get more then the kit lens and the cheap 75-300. I also RARELY used it since it's way to large to lug around with friends. I ended up using my powershot a70 alot more.. I just sold the Rebel and am waiting for paypal to deposit the money into my account.. Then its off to beachcamera to order the g6 <3

I consider the G series along with otheer point and shoots and nice carry around cameras, where as the digital SLRs are for types of photo requiring vary focal length lenses, faster shutter response, but definitely not light to carry everywhere..
