What exactly are the orange gel packs? Anyone have a link to explain them?

One other trick, to not use gels is shoot in RAW. Then in post, "develop" two different shots - one with flash WB and one with tungsten WB. Now you have two photos. Bring them into the same image as two different layers and merge the foreground and background. Voila, you will have one image with the propoer WB throughout!

Cunning idea - thanks for sharing. Do you use layer masking, or is there an "additive" method that will do the job effectively?

Layer masks is the way to go...or at least how I do it. If anyone has a better method though I am always open to improve!

So this method is taking one picture in RAW and adjusting the balance for the foreground and the background seperately?

Maybe this is a stupid question. But how to seperate the background and Foreground. Or are you cutting an image out of another one?

Best to read up on layer masks after you understand your white balance issue's first i think. Try to learn one thing at a time or you will end up even more confused.
