Thanks for comments...no, the poster was very white not shiny, no texture, no pattern. I did bring in the whites though in PP. There was nothing really to wash out - just a bit of shadow....and yes, these are Viola, commonly called Violets, a genus of the family Violaceae. Also known as a big stringed instrument.....eh Wool.

I have no idea ...but the leaves don't shine very much....don't think it would change things. Not sure I could get more colour out of those leaves but thanks for the comment jpon2.
