They LOWERED the price from $299 to $199. Do you think they want to get Adobe's attention?? Elton Balch

frankgindc Member 104 posts Joined Aug 2007 More info | yeah, this update looks good for Aperture AND LR users. I'm getting tired of round tripping stuff from LR into Photoshop just to get decent sharpening and noise reduction. Will definitely be keeping an eye on how Aperture plays out - and how quicly Adobe responds...

That and most of their ported software is pretty bloated feeling in windows. I still use iTunes because I like it, but there's no masking the fact it's a little sluggish. It's hidden a little by the fact dual core is everywhere now.

Aperture is highly integrated with OS X. It uses Leopard's own Quick Look[for RAW] and HUD frameworks. I wouldn't hold on to them porting it anytime soon to be honest.

I'd say Adobe has nothing to worry about, except for the Vibrance feature getting poached =) Canon 20D, Nikon D300 & assorted stuff...

(since it uses Quick Look) I'm on first gen Macbook with 2GB ram and the raws load in a matter of seconds. Navigation and organization is far better in Aperture than Lightroom to be honest. I really can't stand the different modules for Library and Developing. :/
