I guess I'll be the first female to speak up here then... been married almost 12 years (good lord) and I don't think we've "celebrated" vday for about 9 or 10 years. It is a pretty awful holiday, unless ur a kid, in which case it's fun getting a card from that special little boy or girl you've had ur eye on for a while. Anyhoo, this isn't helping Mr. Lord at all, is it? Sorry LM. It doesn't have to be original... just thoughtful. Take her shopping if that's what she likes. Get a sitter, go to the mall, get some dinner and let her pick out a nice outfit or something. Not complicated, just shows you're happy to hang with her and do something she enjoys. Good Luck! :)

OH and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I was thinking about just buying her a box of those sweetheart candies. The ones where they've got those stupid sayings on them like "Be Mine". Those were cool back when I was in 3rd grade.

:) Those are very cute. I just ordered m&ms with my kids names on them. You can get them with anything you want written on them. Or Hershey Kisses with something on the paper sticking out. But it might be too late to order them...

Do you think she'll understand "But I love you every day of the year, why waste money on one tacky commercial day?" :D

No. My husband's used that one for years.:evil:

Yeah - but the stuff falls apart after one wash. But clearly that's not the sales campaign they have going anyway. Man, I despise that store.

I don't know what you are doing with it, my ex has had some of her stuff, clothing included for 7 years. It's the only place I shop..

Maybe you should try it out then. She must hand wash everything. It's just over-priced lingerie with a great marketing ploy IMHO.

Flowers never did anything for me. Get her a gift certificate to a nice spa.

Some women (like me) don't like spas either. I think a nice dinner out is actually a pretty nice gift. Sometimes just acknowledging the holiday is a plus.
