As always, I'm going to flip it and get wifey something nice for valentines day. Such a stupid holiday. Why don't you spend the money on making a really nice dinner? I'm sure she'd appreciate a nice home-cooked meal. I think that's romantic.

Last year I bought my wife a deluxe pedicure and foot massage. She loved it!

I told my husband that what I would REALLY love for valentine's day would be a gift certificate for a cleaning service. It would be nice to get a deep clean of the house done and not have to do it yourself. Maybe she would appreciate that?

I, being an unemployed college student/photographer, do not have a lot of money to spend on holidays such as this, but for my girlfriend this year, I am getting her a dozen red roses along with a note. The note basically indicates that there is a scavenger hunt. I bought 13 cards from a store, and on them I filled out 12 things I love about her (each representing a rose), I will then hide the cards around her house, and on each card give a clue to the next card. the 13th card will be the prize, I haven't decided what I am going to do yet prize wise, but that doesn't matter. Either way, the scavenger hunt is ending at her bed.

Or talk after sex. That would definitely be something new.

These are all pretty good ideas I guess. I haven't cooked for her in a while, so maybe that's an option. However, I've already used up all my good recipes years ago during the honeymoon phase. I'm definitely ruling out wearing leather man-thongs and a bow tie. Valentines day. What a waste.

Eeeww. I had a co-worker whose hubby surprised her with those. Unfortunately, he fell asleep while waiting for her and they melted to his bits and pieces.

Oh man. I was just about to eat dinner too!

I would say to find a great new recipe and cook it for her. My husband makes me veal with flour, butter, lemon juice and a bit of wine and it is to DIE for. He also makes a good salmon dish with tomatoes and mint. That one's really good too...

What would be really romantic is to have the hubby do the cleaning himself - and I mean a real clean, not a get-it-done-as-fast-as-I-can-so-I-can-watch-the-game clean. On second thought - better stick to the dinner idea, lol.

give her something just for her. Like a whole day at a day spa, or if just buy her a professional massage.

How about buying finger foods like shrimp cocktail, cheese and french bread, fresh fruit/angel food cake with chocolate fondue, what ever you like, then,make an indoor picnic by placing a blanket on the floor strewn with pillows, soft music, low lights, lots of candles, and then feed each other and see what happens? Don't forget to find somewhere else for the kids to go if you have them.
