Only 6 more days before the Canon rebate is over...wonder if I should pull the trigger on the $434 100mm macro...

But I'm wonderign how much do they sell for before this whole rebate thing? They *say* it's $470-$480-ish before the rebate, is that really the case? Otherwise $434 seems pretty good since used one are around $400-ish anyway...

THANKS! :)

I'm in the same boat as you. That's the next lens I want to purchase. The prices seem pretty good right now compared to a use and with a macro lens I think I'd prefer getting a new one. I don't really want to throw down some cash and buy this lens until a month later though. :(

At $434, you're better off buying it new...you're also getting a warranty with the deal. Generally, if I can't save at least $100 off the price of "new", then I'll buy the new item. This may not work for everyone, but I kinda stick to it.

That's my general rule as well. When does this rebate expire. I might suck it up and just get it now, instead of a month later. I was just planning on getting it when the weather got better.

A February 18th date comes to mind, but don't quote me on it. You're best bet is to call B&H and ask them.

It expires on the 17th, IIRC.

You can get them used for around $375-425. No tax. Just shipping and possibly a PayPal fee of 3% if the seller requests it.

For $434, I'd buy new. It's YOUR lens, nice and fresh - and comes with a warranty of one year. But you'll have to pay shipping and any applicable taxes as well.

Ah, just went on the deal. Darn another $400 out on a lens. $434 out of abesofmaine.com using loyalty10. I noticed they extended this from January. Might as well just get it now, I was hoping to wait another few weeks before purchasing it.

My 100mm was around $460 with a filter and shipping. That has to be one of the best bang for the buck lenses in the Canon line up.

I'm very impressed with the lens and the price.

I was browsing the buy/sell forum the other day, what a joke how do sellers expect to sell their used items at like $10 off the new price. I even saw a few sellers over at FM a while back trying to sell their used 70-200 f/2.8 IS for MORE than a brand new one at BH photo (with code discount)

@JZeke did you receive your gear yet? I never heard of that company so I looked it up and reviews for them seem to be mixed.
