I know it's a basic site and incomplete, but how does my site look?

I am working to get a site going and I'M only using HTML for the main pages: HOME & PRICES. My idea is to use Jalbum for the portfolio pages that I've yet to add. That said, how does it look so far? Is is OK? Too simple maybe?

Sorry, nothing happened - it went to a websearch page. Is your domain temporarily parked somewhere and not accessible?

It's simple, and I like that. The again I may be biased as I am currently putting together my website and it has some similarities to yours.

My only criticism is in some places the text color that I'll call turquoise blends into the background color too much and is hard ( for me, at least) to read. The dark blue "Return to Home Page" text is especially hard to see.

I'll change to color of the retun to home page to a more readable color. Thanks..

Is that better for the Return to Home Page link?

Ah, now it works - my initial reaction is that I like it.... didn't even have to think about it. Not only that, but it's different than most of the other stuff people are doing these days; unique. Very, very nice bridal portrait too.

That's kind of where I come down when I look at photo websites. Of course there is no "one" right way to do things, but I do believe that the photography should be the "ooh and aah" factor instead of the web building prowess. It should still look good, of course.

Anyway, regarding the text colors... much easier to read.

One other thought I just noticed. Many of your titles are underlined. I think that might confuse people who aren't as internet-savy into thinking that they're links when they're not. I would suggest larger and/or bolder fonts and lose the underlining.

Good point I'll change those this afternoon. Thanks for pointing that out.

I like it too, great domain name :) And since you have your own domain, you should look at using an @framemephotography.com address instead of the gmail one. Just more professional.

I would fix the non-wedding prices page as it's wider than the other 2 and breaks a few of the borders. I like fixed width websites, but not when they jump all over in their widths. I think it's just the table widths on the non-wedding page...they're set to 549 where as the tables on the wedding page are just 100%. Make em both 100% and that should solve it.

Looking forward to seeing the rest!

Nicely done and some very good comments above.

One thing to consider as you go forward. Don't put links to a "Coming soon" type page even though you may have something planned in a particular area. Wait until you have completed the area then link to it. Just a pet peeve of mine...useless links.

Thanks. I've resolved the issue with the inconsistency of page sizes over the site, but then I noticed that I have some border/non border consistency issues bewteen pages. Geez, no wonder why programmers make what they do....:p

Woah, that's a lot of borders, it's also lacking quite a bit of consistency.

I think it would look better without so many borders, a border outlining the content against the background would work, but this just seems like border overkill. The thick beveled borders also make it look very outdated, I would go thinner and non beveled.

I would also work on a more consistent layout, quite a few things seem to change between your three pages that should stay consistent throughout the site. Looking at it again there is a serious consistency problem between pages, and it's a bit confusing to look at going from page to page.

But then it looks like you've already noticed some of this so you have a good start :D

Alright this is my honest critique so don't take it too harshly.

The white borders surround everything, and are varying sizes. It's like you sliced the images in PS and couldn't quite piece them together properly, or something. I'm not a fan of times new roman, and you should use a seperate font for your banner (or at least different color?) than your body text. You also have the "email us" and "give us a call" just seemingly randomly thrown in there. The wedding prices/non wedding prices seems randomly thrown in at the top - there seem to be 2 menu bars, 1 containing the prices and 1 containing home and likely portfolios. I'd suggest combining these into one menu bar with stuff like: home, portfolio, pricing, about me, etc. Have you thought about centering the whole thing on the center of the page? Then you also have the issue of inconsistency between your pages as previously mentioned.

One last thing I have to reiterate upon looking at this some more - I really can't stand the white borders/things which completely stand out.

There are things I like about your site as well, and I'm having the same struggles building my own site. Just trying to give you an in depth honest opinion from someone who is pretty interested in graphics/web design.

Thanks for the great input. The site is a totally weork in progress project right now. It changes every day. I am working to get a consistent feel and I will eventually get there. The non-wedding page is not consistent at all with the other 2 pages yes because I haven't decided on a "theme" yet. Once I do, (with your help I hope) I'll progopage it all out. Still working...

OK. I think I took care of the ugly white frames and some consistency issues. Look Better? I know the portfolio link isn't operative, but that's where Jalbum will come in. Still a Work-In-Progress.
