Your 300d (Rebel) uses the 'standard' mount, so all EF and EF-s lenses will work with it.

All EF and EF-S mount lenses will work with it. However, when using an EF mount lens the zoom range or fixed range of that lens will be multiplied by 1.6 since our cameras have a APS-C size sensor. So my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 (great lens by the way!) becomes a 44.8-120mm lens.

Sorry to be terse, but this is neither true nor relevant.
The focal length inscribed on a lens is its focal length, irrespective of the body it is mounted on. It does not become longer just because it is mounted on a cropping body. That's the not true part.

Since the OP is already using a cropping body, he/she is already presumably familiar with the field of view offered by certain focal lengths. Comparing that to a full frame or 135 format film body is not relevant.
