When you say the estuary, where exactly in North Devon do you mean..

Shame the Spoonbill did not slightly turn towards you

great pics and those lapwings are cool looking birds

Beautiful shots - the lapwing is gorgeous. I think the gull is a black-headed rather than a herring gull. Great shot in any case

Hi Pete, The Spoonbill shot was taken at Isley marsh,Yelland and the rest were taken at Barnstaple. All on the River Taw.

THESE are very nice but the first one is a jem of a shot.

Yep, your are of course right Sheryl, it is a BHG - must have been in orbit when I labelled it

Thanks Rob, this is just about the closest I have ever got to a Lapwing.

Nice shots with the second one being my favorite. Excellent in-flight shot.
