When you say the estuary, where exactly in North Devon do you mean..

Shame the Spoonbill did not slightly turn towards you

Beautiful shots - the lapwing is gorgeous. I think the gull is a black-headed rather than a herring gull. Great shot in any case :D

Hi Pete, The Spoonbill shot was taken at Isley marsh,Yelland and the rest were taken at Barnstaple. All on the River Taw.

Yep, your are of course right Sheryl, it is a BHG - must have been in orbit when I labelled it :)
